Kettering Grammar School physics teacher Geoff Perry (1927-2000) recruited students at his school and around the world to track Soviet satellites using short wave radio. His many discoveries included the first public identification of the Plesetsk launch site.
I was lucky enough to meet Geoff a few times and I corresponded with him in the last few
years of his life. I was honored to be invited to the memorial for Geoff in 2000 as a sort of
honorary member of the group.
